Jordan withdraws ambassador from Tel Aviv after Israeli raid on Aqsa mosque

The Jordan Times:
The Jordanian government on Wednesday recalled its ambassador in Tel Aviv Walid Obeidat for consultations following Wednesday’s Israeli raid on Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. According to the Jordan news agency, Petra, the measure comes in protest over the unprecedented Israeli escalation and violations of the sanctity of Al Haram Al Sharif compound in the holy city.
The decision was taken at the instructions of Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour to Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, Petra said. Petra said that Ensour had also instructed Judeh to lodge a formal complaint with the UN Security Council over Israeli violations in Al Haram Al Sharif. Jordan's delegation to the UN started immediately diplomatic measures to lodge the complaint, according to Petra.
Earlier Wednesday, far-right Jewish groups attempted to storm Al Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest shrine to Muslims all over the world, prompting clashes between Palestinians defending the mosque and Israeli occupation forces.
Already this past weekend Jordan lodged a protest with the Israeli governement against the ongoing violations of the Holy sites.
